Why You Should Schedule Regular Dental Visits
Mon, Apr 15th, 2019
Just like anything else, your teeth need regular maintenance including brushing, flossing and visiting the dentist every 6 months for dental cleanings and an exam. Regular dental checkups are important for finding problems early when they are more easily treated:
- Catching early gum disease
- Detecting early tooth decay
- Check bite and jaw
- Check gums
- Overall oral health
There is a strong link between oral health and overall health. Here are ways to protect your oral health which include:
- Brush your teeth morning and before bedtime
- Floss regularly
- Eat a healthy diet
- Avoid sugary beverages and snacks
- Replace your toothbrush every 4-6 months
- Schedule regular dental cleanings (every 6 months)
- Have a check up at least once a year (usually done after one of your dental cleanings)
By the age of 12 we usually have all of our permanent teeth that need to last the rest of our lives. The sooner we begin to take care of them, the better! Good oral habits when started early, will usually last a lifetime.
If you have not been to the dentist in a while, it is never too late to begin a healthy oral hygiene routine. Many people put off going to the dentist due to fear of what will be found or fear of pain and that just leads to putting off the dentist even longer. At Arnold Dentistry we do our best to provide comfortable dental care to all of our patients ensuring your experience with us is as comfortable as possible.
Don’t put off your dental visit any longer. Give us a call and begin your journey to excellent oral health or to maintain your current oral health status.
